The Holden Reptile Conservation Center is home to 131 reptiles representing 61 species, of which approximately 52% are considered threatened or endangered in the wild.
The Detroit Zoological Society receives more than 50 requests a year from pet owners looking to rehome their reptiles, and only on rare occasions are they able to accept one.
Owners looking to rehome their pets should contact the nearest humane society or animal rescue group.
